Vice Ganda Endorses Risa Hontiveros!

Vice Ganda finally revealed the senatorial candidate he endorses. On Thursday, the It’s Showtime host who has more than 3 million followers in the photo-sharing platform Instagram and microblogging site Twitter, posted his support for Team PNoy or Liberal Party candidate Risa Hontiveros.


“Risa Hontiveros. Ito ang babaeng iboboto ko sa Senado. May karanasan at kakayahan sa gobyerno. Matapang dahil may ibubuga. May sariling pangalan at di umaasa sa sikat na apelyido,” the box-office star tweeted.

“May matino akong trabaho. Nakaipon nako. At hinding hindi ko ibinibenta ang prinsipyo ko. Libre ang pagendorso ko sa taong pinaniniwalaan ko,” he posted in a follow up tweet as a disclaimer in his endorsement.

Hontiveros replied with gratefulness for Vice Ganda’s endorsement. “Sobra sobra akong natutuwa. I wish to thank Vice Ganda for standing up against traditional politics. I have always admired his bravery and his intelligence, and I deeply respect the fact that he is standing up for his principles,” the senatoriable said.

With only a few days before the election, Vice Ganda’s endorsement is very critical to Hontiveros’ candidacy who has been struggling to make it to the top 12 in surveys. In the recent SWS survey, Hontiveros did not make it to the list of candidates who will likely win senatorial seats.

In past interviews, the comedian, when asked why he is not endorsing any candidate, said that he will only do so if he sees that the candidate is deserving and not because he is being paid.
