FIVB SEA Zonal Qualifiers result: Philippine Bomberinas lost to Vietnam in 3 sets
Philippine Bomberinas or the Philippine Women's Volleyball team lost in three straights in their game versus Vietnam, in the first game for the qualifier round of the 2013 FIVB Southeast Asia Zonal Qualifer, Friday night. The game was held in Quang Tri Vietnam.Vietnam stars Do Thi Minh and Thi Ngoc Hoa toyed the all-star V League selection in three sets, 25-9, 25-11, 25-18. At the third set, coach Roger Gorayeb managed to get the team together with a close 16-12, but Vietnam surprised the team to finish the game.
Alyssa Valdez of Team Ateneo led the Philippine Bomberinas for nine points in the first set. Defenders of the Vietnamese team new about her technique and so the losing streak for the Philippines went on. Jaja Santiago scored 6 while her sister scored 5. Other scorers were Youngco, Roces, Ortiz, Dimaculangan and Pablo.
Meanwhile, Indonesia defeated Myanmar in three straight sets, too. In this earlier match, they won, 25-21, 25-17, 25-15.
The Philippine Bomberinas have a fight tonight at 7 PM against Myanmar.
