Binibining Pilipinas 2014. Veterans Diana Arevalo and MJ Lastimosa - is third time's a charm?


If there's one thing certain about these two goddesses, it is that they are both glamorous and prepared to compete anytime. Binibining Pilipinas 2014 season is just heating up but these two girls already have the advantage for being familiar faces too many times before.



Diana Arevalo started her stint at BBP in 2009 when she ranked sixth behind Pamela Bianca Manalo, Marie Ann Umali, Melody Gersbach, Rich Asuncion and Regina Hahn. She had the most stunning face and one of the best answers that night. She relived her stint in 2011 but too bad, there were too many very competitive girls that time with Shamcey Supsup, Isabella Manjon, Dianne Necio and Mary Jean Lastimosa.

That brings us to the brightest star in the universe and probably the one a lot of pageant fans are rooting to win a crown the most - MJ Lastimosa is the girl that defines determination. She knows she has what it takes to become a beauty queen, but her second runner-up finish in 2011 and Top 12 semifinalist finish in 2012 wouldn't stop her from finally clinching the top spot. MJ is willing to give it one last push, with Kagandahang Flores, this time.

The difference is Diana Arevalo is the Miss Universe-Philippines prototype. After Shamcey's stint last 2011 in Brazil, Arevalo's stunning face and passable body, with that right amount of allure and intelligent mind can actually capture this year's crown.

Lastimosa, on the other hand, has that Filipina-Latina vibe with that rocking proportionate body. She has great communication skills as well, but she's probably at the middle of the pack when it comes to facial beauty.

Will she be the one or will Diana Arevalo become this year's Miss Universe-Philippines?

We'll all find out on March 30, 2014.

Looks like the Philippines will have two bets to the Miss Universe 2013 Competition this coming December. Ex PBB housemate and Will Devaughn's ex, Riza Santos, just won the Miss Universe Canada 2013 competition after representing Calgary in the said competition last Sunday.


Initially, Riza was announced as the first runner-up while Denise Garrido who is the actual third runner-up was proclaimed the winner.

Garrido is from Ontario. The contestant accepted the error committed by the Beauties of Canada (BOC) tabulation committee.
The organization had named Santos to be the real winner.

Riza Santos had appeared not only in PBB but also in a movie with Vic Sotto and some shows in the Kapamilya network. Santos is born with Filipino parents. Santos was surprised to find out about it tonight. She had also represented Canada in Miss Earth 2006 and Miss World 2011.

Santos will be competing against Binibining Pilipinas 2013 winner Miss Universe Philippines Ariella Arida.
